So my birthday has rolled around again and here I am, lusting after all the gifts I would love to recieve.
Since becoming a mum I don’t really treat myself. I never get pampered somewhere special or buy nice perfumes and cosmetics. In fact I rarely even buy any clothes now. It is all about the little man and I never thought I would become this cliche. But here we are.
So I figure if I can’t wish to be spoilt any other day, then surely I can be a bit self indulgent on my birthday, am I right?
I love reading, especially in bed, much better than scrolling instagram for the twentieth time that day. I have to say that I love a good book set in the olden times with a bit of romance, but I also enjoy some good ol’ non fiction. Dunc bought me Sara Pascoe’s Animal a few years back and I love it. I think Scar Curtis’s book Feminists Don’t Wear Pink and other lies would be a really interesting read. I also want Hollie Newton’s How to Grow for my future gardening self.
I have so many pictures to frame, but hate spending the money on frames! There are so many nice ones in Homesense at the moment but I can’t justify the cost. But I do think they are extra special as a gift. I still remember who gifted me frames I have had since I was a teenager.
Cosmetics and the like
Again, another thing I hate to spend money on myself! I need some more blusher, I like a good quality one and usually use Benefit. I also want a nice new perfume for everyday use. Also, I spied this nude lipstick which would be a treat.
Along these lines I always love a good pampering present along the lines of bath treats, creams or posh shampoos. Who doesn’t love to have a spa sesh in their own home?
How incredible would it be to recieve plants for a birthday? I got an apple tree from a friend for my 30th and it is one of my most favourite gifts ever. Plus I love, love, love greenery in the house.
Imagine recieving a rose plant or a monstera? I would make an extra special effort to keep them alive!
Clothes and Accessories
These are always a good treat right? I would adore a wax jacket, or a really good quality jumper or breton. Plus I think I need a new pair of black lace ankle boots for winter (no heels obviously!).
I would also love some cosy gloves for cold winter mornings and one of the gorgeous necklaces from Wander Lust Life.
Oh and a swell flask, or something of the like please!
So yeh, not much on my wishlist. However, just a date night out and about with my husband would be a ruddy lush gift.
